In his office, Doc was researching different types of medicines, when suddenly, Mater burst into the building.  “THEY’RE DONE,” he exclaimed.

Suddenly confused, Doc turned to the tow truck.  “Done?”

“Mmm-hmm.”

“It’s only been an hour,” said Doc.

“Doc, I think you should see this,” said Wubbzy.

Meanwhile, in the Alpha Star garage, AJ was working on repairing the Wubb Mobile with Widget’s supervision.  Kaytlin was also in there, watching from a safe distance.  AJ screwed in some loose screws underneath the vehicle while he said, “this thing will be able to drive again, won’t it?”

“As long as you repair it, it should,” said Widget, “this one of my team’s transport vehicles and what my friends and I use to get around Wuzzleburg.”

“Ok,” said AJ, “I don’t care if this takes a while.  I just wanna…”

“Hey Widget, Kaytlin,” said Rudy who appeared with Woog near the garage door, “I think you both should look at this.”

“Did they make progress with the road,” asked Kaytlin.

“Um…about that…” said Woog as he and Rudy looked at each other with uncertainty.

Outside, McQueen and Serena reached the end of the road, tired and panting, but proud to have made it to the end of the road.  However, Bessie was giving off a lot more steam and was barely staying together.  “I’m done,” panted McQueen, “I’m finished.  Just say thank you and I’ll be on my way.  That’s all you gotta say.”

But the townspeople and squad weren’t happy.  They were in complete shock over what the duo did to the road.  Instead of straight and smooth, the asphalt was bumpy and all over the place.  “WEEHOO!  I’M THE FIRST ONE ON THE NEW ROAD,” cheered Mater.

He drove onto the road, but it was bumpy and it shook him as he drove.  “It rides pretty smoothly,” said Mater as his mouth jiggled.

But the others could tell that this was not a good road for the town.  “It looks awful,” said Sally.

“Well it matches the rest of the town,” replied Serena.

This comment offended everyone.  But Red took it the hardest.  He burst into tears and drove off.  “Red,” said Sally.

But Sally was ignored as the fire truck drove off.  Now furious, everyone turned to McQueen and Serena.  “Who do you think you are,” demanded Kimmy.

“Look, Doc said when we finished we could go,” complained McQueen, “that was the deal.”

“The deal was you fix the road, not make it worse,” said Doc who drove up to McQueen, “now scrape it off.  Start over again.”

“Um, FYI Mr. Judge: I was not born to do this kind of work,” said Serena.

“Do not take those words with us young lady,” scolded Hathi, “as long as you are under probation, you will obey the rules here.”

“You call this A ROAD,” shouted Kaytlin as she appeared on the scene with Widget, AJ, Rudy and Woog, “I knew you were gonna mess up on this Serena, like how you messed up in training.”

“This road is a lost cause anyway,” replied Serena, “I mean, look at this place.  It’s a town in the middle of nowhere and has no customers…and it’s dirty.”

This comment got the townspeople angry.  But before they or Kaytlin could say anything, AJ stepped in and expressed his thoughts.  “I cannot believe this,” he complained, “seriously.  Are you trying to make our stay longer?  What is wrong with you?”

Shocked at AJ for siding with them, Serena got furious.  “HEY, don’t get mad at me for trying to finish this road,” she snapped, “we have a race to get to and we can’t let repairing this road get in the way.”

“But you didn’t have to make a mess out of it,” complained Cassidy.

“Yeah,” added Ling.

“You’re more trouble than we thought,” said Yao.

“Do you honestly think we can do this,” asked Serena, “we’re not cut out for this waste of time.”

“She’s right,” said McQueen, “I’m not a bulldozer.  I’m a racecar.”

“Ohoho,” replied Doc, “is that right?  Then why don’t we just have a little race, me and you.”

“What,” asked a surprised Sally.

“A race,” asked Daizy.

“Hohoho, me and you, is that a joke,” asked McQueen.

“If you win, you go and I fix the road,” said Doc, “if I win, you do the road my way.  And you’re more than welcome to partake in this too young lady.”

“Doc, what’re you doing,” asked Sheriff.

“Really?  Awesome.  That way, I can show you all what I’m really made of,” said Serena before eyeing Kaytlin, “and I know exactly who to challenge.”

Kaytlin grinned her teeth and cracked her knuckles.  “Bring it on.”

“Oh wait, I forgot, you don’t race in a car,” said Serena, “so I’m afraid you won’t be able to compete.”

Suddenly, a vehicle drove towards the group and stopped on the dirt.  It was Kyle, driving his own racecar.  It was gold in color and the front of it looked like the head of a hedgehog.  “She does now,” said Kyle, “I’m lending her my own personal vehicle: the Golden Hedgehog.  Fast and maneuverable, it’s something that was given to me as a gift by Widget.  But I’m gonna let Kaytlin use it, ‘cause I trust her.”

“Thank you Kyle,” said Kaytlin.

“Her, oh please,” said Serena.

This got Kaytlin angry again, but Doc said, “alright then, she can race too.  It’ll be us four.  If you or Husky win, you go, but if Kaytlin or I win, you stay.”

“I don’t mean to be rude here Doc, but you probably go zero to sixty in like what?  Three point five years,” asked McQueen.

“Well then I reckon you ain’t got nothing to worry about,” said Doc.

“You know what ol timer, that’s a wonderful idea,” said McQueen, “let’s race.”

With that decision confirmed, Kaytlin and Serena eyed each other, ready for an intense competition.  Seeing this, AJ face palmed himself.  “This won’t end well,” he muttered.

On another part of the desert, the townspeople and squad gathered at Willy’s Bute, an area secluded a mile from the town, with a track that resembled a racetrack, but only smaller.  McQueen, Doc, Kaytlin and Serena, using her motorcycle, stood at the starting line while listening to Sheriff announce the rules.  “Ladies and gentlemen, this will be a one lap race,” announced Sheriff, “you will drive to Willy’s Butte, go around Willy’s Butte, and come back.  There will be no bumpin’, no cheatin’, no spittin’, no bittin’, no road rage, no maimin’, no oil slickin’, no shovin’, no backstabbin’, no road-hoggin’, and no lolly-gaggin’.”

“Roger Sheriff,” said Kaytlin.

The townspeople and squad waited anxiously for the race to start.  Luigi and Guido were the ones most excited about this.  “Speed, I am speed,” muttered McQueen, “float like a Cadillac, sting like a Beemer.”

“Ohohohoho, my friend Guido, he dreamed to give a real racecar, a pit stop,” said Luigi.

“Pit stop,” asked Guido.

“Ahaha,” said McQueen, not wanting any help, “the race is only one lap guys.  Uno lappo.  Don’t need any help.  I work solo-mio.”

“Fine, race-a your way,” said Luigi who drove off the track.

But Guido kept staring at McQueen, hoping for the pit stop.  “No pit stoppo.  Comprendo?”

“Ok,” replied Guido who got off the track.

McQueen shook his head, irritated, while Serena glared at Kaytlin.  “This oughta settle things between us,” she said, “I’ll be the better competitor and you’ll be in the dust.”

“We’ll see about that,” replied Kaytlin sternly, “I’m assuming you’re working alone like McQueen there, huh?”

“You got that right,” said Serena, causing AJ to sigh.

“Too bad for you, ‘cause I’m allowing my team to help,” said Kaytlin.

“The race is only one lap,” said Serena, “what’s the matter?  Afraid you’ll crash into the cacti?”

“No,” replied Kaytlin, “I like working with my friends, and Kyle’s generous enough to let me use his stuff when necessary.”

Serena rolled her eyes before hearing Sheriff announce, “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!  START…YOUR…ENGINES!”

Doc calmly started his engine and it gave off a gentle ignition.  McQueen rolled his eyes and started his engine, giving a louder, more intense ignition, as if he was preparing for a big race.  Serena did a similar ignition and these impressed some of the townsfolk.  “Hijole, check that out,” said Ramon.

“Whoa,” said Fillmore.

“Mmm-mmm,” said Flo.

“Great idea Doc,” said Sally sarcastically, “now the road will never get done.”

“Luigi,” said Sheriff as he got off the track, letting Luigi do his thing.

“Hohohoho, on your mark, get set,” said Luigi happily, “uno for the money, due for the show, tre to get ready, and Quattro to, I can’t-a believe it…GO!”

With that, McQueen and Serena instantly accelerated forward, leaving Doc and Kaytlin in the dust.  But Kayltin accelerated as well, but not as fast as the duo.  Everyone cheered for the racers, but became confused when the dust cleared.  To their surprise, Doc was still there, having not moved a bit.  Luigi saw Doc and said, “Doc…the flag means go…remember the flag…here we go.  Go.”

“Uh Doc,” said Ramon, “what’re you doing man?”

“Something wrong with your engine,” asked Walden.

“Oh dear.  Would seem I’m off to a poor start.  Well better late than never,” said Doc who started going forward, “come on Mater, I might need a little help.”

Confused, Mater met up with Doc.  “Uh, ok.”

“You got your tow cable,” asked Doc.

“Yeah, I always got my tow cable,” replied Mater, “why?”

“Oh, just in case.”

Back with the other racers, they were oblivious to Doc not starting alongside them.  But McQueen and Serena didn’t care.  They kept driving fast, while Kaytlin fell behind.  Seeing that Kaytlin was stuck in the cloud of dust, Serena grinned and said, “looks like we’re outta here.”

“Yep,” said McQueen, “so long Radiator Springs, and hello Piston Cup.”

The only part left was a turn to the left.  McQueen turned his tires to said direction, but instead of turning left, he kept going straight.  His pride quickly vanished and he became frantic as he tried controlling himself.  Serena also tried maneuvering to the left, but she too kept going forward.  Suddenly, they both went over a cliff and plummeted into small gorge.  Serena swiftly tried turning, but with no traction to stop herself, she slid off her motorcycle and slid on the dirt.  As for McQueen he crashed into the sharp cacti that was down there.  Everyone watching the race winced in shock over McQueen’s comeuppance.  “Ooh that’s gonna leave a mark,” commented Dennis.

“Ow…ahh,” muttered McQueen in pain before trying to get himself out, with no success.

Doc and Mater appeared near the cliff edge and saw what happened.  “HEY, WAS THAT FLOATING LIKE A CADILLAC OR WAS THAT STINGIN’ LIKE A BEEMER,” asked Doc, “I’M CONFUSED!”

Mater chuckled while McQueen and Serena groaned, very disappointed that they failed, but while McQueen stayed quiet, Serena started feeling a nervous thought.  “YOU DRIVE LIKE YA FIX ROADS!  LOUSY,” shouted Doc before turning to Mater, “have fun fishin’ Mater.”

“Elsa, go get Serena outta there,” said Kyle.

Elsa obeyed the order and flew into the gorge.  She picked up Serena by the arms with her feet and flew her into the air.  “Hopefully you didn’t get badly hurt from that fall,” said Elsa.

“No, I’m a tough gal,” replied a disappointed Serena, “but how did that…”

Before Serena could finish, she saw Kaytlin cross the finish line with Doc.  As Kaytlin came to a stop, the squad gathered around her and congratulated her for a job well done.  As they did, Kaytlin looked up and saw Serena being carried by Elsa.  “Better luck next time Husky,” she said, feeling very proud.

Serena grinned angrily at her while Mater started fishing McQueen out of the gorge.  “I’m startin’ to think he knew you was gonna crash,” he said.

“Thank you Mater,” said McQueen dryly, “thank you.”

Later that evening, under the twilight sky, McQueen and Serena were forced to remove the messy asphalt from the road using cowcatchers.  This asphalt was extremely hard to cut through and this was making stuff much more stressful for the duo.  “I can make a little turn on dirt, you think?  No, and now I’m a day behind,” said McQueen, “I’m never gonna get outta here.”

At Flo’s gas station, Ramon, Sarge, Fillmore, Flo, Mater and the squad watched them scrap off the asphalt.  “You need a new paint job man,” said Ramon.

“No thank you,” said McQueen.

“How about some organic fuel,” said Fillmore.

“That freak juice,” asked a disgusted Sarge.

“Pass,” replied McQueen.

“I drink water, not your fuel,” said Serena, before muttering to herself, “‘better luck next time Husky.’  Bah!  Lucky brat.”

“Whoo, watchin’ them work is making me thirsty,” said Flo, “anybody else want something to drink?”

“Nah, not me Flo.  I’m on one of them there special diets.  I’m a precisional instrument of speed and aero-mathics,” said Mater.

The squad chuckled at Mater’s statement.  “I think those two have made an influence on Mater,” said Rex.

“Yeah, and hopefully he’ll be better at that aero-whatcha call it stuff than those two,” said Donkey, “considering they’ve drove themselves into a spiny situation back there.”

While the squad chuckled, Serena glared at them, infuriated by that comment.  “Those disrespectful lunatics,” she muttered, “they’re gonna regret mocking me.”

“I’m with ya on that one,” said McQueen, “‘you race like you fix roads.’  I’ll show him.  I will show him.”

Later that evening, under a starry night, Doc was backing up into his office when he noticed McQueen and Serena pushing Bessie down the road again.  Forced into working overnight, they were being watched by Sheriff and Hathi.  This proved very difficult again and some of the asphalt landed on them.  “AH GREAT,” yelled McQueen, “I HATE IT!  HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE IT!”

Doc chuckled at their misfortune as he backed up.  “Music, sweet music.”

Sally was also awake, hearing the two angry workers.  “Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,” she said, feeling slightly bad for them.

“RADIATOR SPRINGS, A HAPPY PLACE,” yelled Serena before she and McQueen got splattered by asphalt again.

“OK BESSIE, YOU THINK THAT’S FUNNY?  GREAT, I’M TALKING TO BESSIE NOW!  I’M TALKING TO BESSIE!”

“SHUT UP ALREADY,” yelled Rudy from the Alpha Star.

“Sheesh, those two don’t hold any complaining back,” said Chien Po.

“Now you guys know how it feels,” said Kaytlin, “that girl has been a thorn in my side for a long time.”

“It’s a good thing AJ doesn’t act that way towards you,” said Dweeb.

“So far,” replied Kaytlin.

“Let’s call it a night and get some rest,” said Kyle before making a call on his badge, “hopefully things will settle down and that road’ll be good as new.  Widget, what’s the latest news on our inventor?”

“AJ’s still working on the Wubb Mobile,” answered Widget, “but, now Kaytlin please don’t call me crazy for saying this, I don’t think AJ’s all that rude.”

“What,” asked Kaytlin.

“He’s accepting his work and he’s listening carefully on what I have to say about repairing it,” said Widget, “as of now, he’s made some good progress.”

“Widget, that girl out there fixing the road is my supreme rival from training and that person fixing your car is associated with her,” said Kaytlin, “they both have one thing in common: they’re coming from a reckless racing background.  I’m not like them.”

“We know you’re not Kaytlin, but maybe AJ’s not either,” said Walden, “why else would he take his sentence with cooperation and loyalty?”

“Maybe he’ll make a difference tomorrow as well,” said Kyle, “good night everyone.”

The following morning, Sally came out of her Cozy Cone Motel building upon hearing some happy noises.  To her amazement, there was a smooth, straight line of asphalt near the end of town.  Mater was driving on it, having a good time, and the other townsfolk were approaching to check it out.  “Wow,” said Sally, amazed.

“Morning Sally,” said Mater, “hey look at this fancy new road that Lightning McQueen and Serena Husky done just made.”

“Yeah…it’s amazing,” said Sally.

The squad also appeared, and were amazed to see this road.  “Wow, wow, wow,” said Wubbzy, “look at this new road.”

“Well shave me down and call me a hippo,” said Donkey, “they made a smooth road.  WAHOO!”

“Oh yeah,” said Ramon who got on the road and relaxed, “aahhh!”

“Ooh Ramon,” said Flo who liked Ramon’s green colors, “Mama ain’t seen ya that low in years.”

“I haven’t seen a road like this in years,” said Ramon.

“Well then let’s cruise baby.”

“Low and slow.”

“E Bellissima, it’s-a beautiful,” said Luigi who was looking at the road with Guido, “Guido look, it’s-a like it was painted by-a angels.”

“Oh I tell ya what, I bet even the roads on the moon ain’t this smooth,” said Mater.

Kaytlin looked at the road, but she was left in deep thought.  She couldn’t believe that Serena managed to create this road, one that was perfect and popular among the townsfolk.  “I…I can’t believe this,” said Kaytlin.

Doc appeared on the scene and got to see the new road.  “Doc, look at this,” said Sally, “should’ve tossed him into a cactus a lot sooner, huh?”

“Well they ain’t finished yet,” said Doc, “still got a long way to go.”

“Guido, look at-a Luigi,” said Luigi who was swinging on Mater’s tow cable, “AHAHAHA!”

“That looks like fun,” said Sally who wanted in, “Mater, I’ve got dibs next turn.”

“Hey Luigi, this new road makes your place look like a dump,” said Lizzie.

“Ah, that crazy old-a devil woman,” complained Luigi before looking at his shop and sadly comparing it to the new road, “ah…oh she’s-a right.  Guido!”

“Look at that smooth asphalt,” said Rex, who was still admiring the road.

“I guess some sense finally got knocked into those two,” said Kyle.

“Hmm…them punks actually did a good job,” said Doc who was impressed with the road, before noticing Bessie nearby and McQueen and Serena nowhere in sight, “well now…where the heck are they?”

Meanwhile, McQueen was driving down the dirt road, eyes focused on one objective and one objective only.  Doc, Kyle, Rudy, Dennis and Rex saw Sheriff overlooking Willy’s Bute and approached him.  “Sheriff,” called Doc before stopping by his side, “is he makin’ another run for it?”

“No, no,” replied Sheriff, “they ran outta asphalt in the middle of the night, the hot rod asked me if he could come down here.  All he’s trying to do is make that there turn.”

“NO, NO, NO, NO, NO…AH GREAT,” complained McQueen having screwed up on the turn again, “perfect turns on every track I’ve ever raced on.”

“What about Serena,” asked Rudy, “what happened to her?”

“She passed out last night after a long night of work and constant complaining,” said Sheriff, “I’m guessin’ she worked herself out last night.  Right now, she’s recovering in the Alpha Star along with her friend.”

“Ah, so that’s where they are,” said Rex.

Doc looked at McQueen driving on the track and had an idea, but looked at Sheriff.  “Sheriff, why don’t you go get yourself a quart of oil that flows.  I’ll keep an eye on ‘em.”

Liking this idea, Sheriff smiled.  “Well thanks Doc.  I’ve been feeling a quart low,” he said as he drove off.

Back with McQueen, he started driving towards the turn again.  Increasing his speed, he prepared to make the turn, but as he tried turning, he started sliding into some bushes and became dirty.  He coughed, before noticing Doc nearby.  “This ain’t asphalt son,” he said, “this is dirt.”

“Oh great, what do you want,” asked McQueen who drove back onto the track, “you here to gloat?”

“You don’t have three-wheel brakes so you gotta pitch it hard, and break it loose…and just drive it with a throttle,” said Doc, “give it too much, you’ll be outta the dirt and into the tulips.”

“So you’re a judge, doctor and a racing expert,” said McQueen.

“Well Doc here’s an intelligent fellow,” said Kyle, “he knows what he’s talking about.”

“I’ll put it simple: if you’re going hard enough left, you’ll find yourself turning right,” said Doc.

But this advice was met with complaining from the stubborn McQueen.  “Ooh right, that makes perfect sense.  Turn right to go left.  Yes, thank you.  Or should I say ‘no thank you,’ because in opposite world, maybe that really means ‘thank you,’” he said rudely before driving off on the track again, leaving Doc and the others in the dust, “crazy Grandpa car.  What an idiot.”

“Well that was beyond rude,” said Rudy, “I’m glad that jerk crashed into the cacti yesterday.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if the others found Serena’s complaining rough,” said Kyle.

Doc and the others went back onto the hill overlooking the track.  McQueen caught a glimpse of Doc and had a thought.  “Turn right to go left.”

Thinking about it and finding it crazy, he swiftly turned his wheels right, but all that happened was him going right and over the gorge again.  He landed in a pile of cacti in pain.  “Ooh that’s gotta hurt,” said Rex.

“It could’ve been worse,” commented Dennis.

A large cactus sitting over the gorge tipped over and landed right on McQueen, causing him to yell in pain louder.  “Just as I thought…it got worse,” said Dennis.

“Kaytlin would like to see Serena like that,” said Rudy.

Meanwhile, in the Alpha Star, Serena awoke in her prison cell again.  Though confused about where she was, she saw that she was back in the same cell as before.  “What the…oh come on,” said Serena, “what was my crime this time?  Constant complaining.”

The cell door opened up and Serena saw Hathi and the Chinese trio standing outside.  “I wish it could be a crime since you’re crazy rude,” said Yao, “but it ain’t.”

“We brought you here after you passed out last night from all the hard work you’ve done on the road,” said Chien Po.

“Wait…you didn’t leave me on the road,” asked Serena.

“What?  That’s a preposterous choice for us,” said Hathi, “you deserved a rest after your contribution, just like your friend.”

“What?  AJ’s…WHAT?”

In another room in the ship, AJ was getting a chance to relax.  Sitting in a comfy couch with some of the squad members, he had managed to socialize with them and get on good terms with them.  “I gotta admit AJ, you’ve done quite a good job on the Wubb Mobile,” said Walden, “at the rate you’re going, you will definitely get it back in working condition.”

“Really,” asked AJ, “um…thank you.  If I severely damaged it to the point of beyond repair, I would’ve felt absolutely terrible.”

“Don’t worry AJ,” said Daizy, “just keep up the good work, and it’ll shine once again.”

“One thing we’ve noticed is that you’re much nicer than that Serena gal,” said Donkey.

“You know, he’s right,” said Cassidy, “you accepted your responsibility with cooperation without question.”

“I know,” replied AJ.

“Why would you do that,” asked Kaytlin, “I mean, Serena’s not like that.  She’s always trying to prove herself right with what she’s doing?”

“I did what I did because it’s the correct thing to do,” said AJ, “I’m sorry if Serena’s done some mean things to you, but I want you to know I’m nothing like that.  I just wish she could be more like me though and enjoy this relaxation.”

“WRONG,” a loud voice erupted, startling everyone.

Everyone looked and saw Serena standing at the doorway, furious at AJ.  “The only wishing you are doing is wishing that you were in California with me for the Piston Cup,” she said.

“What?  Serena,” complained AJ.

“You’re slacking off on your duty, making our stay that much longer,” said Serena.

“But…but I was just…”

“If this keeps up, we’ll never get outta here,” said Serena, “get back to…”

“HOLD ON,” shouted Kimmy, stopping Serena’s complaining, “it’s true, he does have a duty, but he’s done a lot of hard work over the past couple hours, and we thought he deserved a break.”

“Look Ms. Elephant, all your team is doing is delaying us from getting to the...”

Kaytlin grabbed Serena’s shirt collar and pulled her towards her.  “It’s KIMMY the elephant to you Husky,” she snapped, “and she’s right.  AJ’s worked on Widget’s Wubb Mobile all night long and he deserves a break.”

“We are on a tight schedule and I will not let you keep us from winning like how you’re trapping us here in this ghost town,” complained Serena, “nor will I let you get away with that pure luck victory you pulled off on McQueen and I yesterday.”

“THAT WASN’T PURE LUCK,” snapped Kaytlin, “THAT WAS ME SLOWING DOWN FOR THAT TURN!  Slow and steady wins the race as they say.”

“I think that was a great strategy,” said AJ.

Serena stopped her argument with Kaytlin and turned to AJ, shocked that he sided with the squad again.  “What did you just say,” asked Serena.

“I said I think it was a great strategy for Kaytlin on that race,” said AJ, “if you did that too, you’d be a better racer.”

“WHAT?  It wasn’t my fault we got stuck here in Radiator Springs,” said Serena, “you decided to take control of the wheel of our motorcycle.  You caused us to drive wildly around the town.”

“HEY, IT WASN’T ME WHO DECIDED TO OUTRUN THE SHERIFF,” snapped AJ, getting very angry, “THAT WAS THE CHOICE OF SOMEONE WHO CAN’T LEARN TO STOP AND SETTLE DOWN!”

“OH YEAH?”

“ALRIGHT, THAT’S ENOUGH,” shouted Hathi, breaking up the fight, “this bickering is what’s going to keep you two from going anywhere.  Serena has to fix the road with McQueen and AJ has to repair the damage he did to the Alpha Star, and you will do it without any further rebellion.”

“Fine,” said Serena, “the last thing I need is a lazy teammate for that race anyway.”

This comment caused AJ to lose it.  “LISTEN!  IF YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST CRITICIZE ME FOR TRYING TO SETTLE DOWN AND DO MY JOB SMOOTHLY, THEN YOU CAN FIND A NEW CREWMATE FOR YOUR PIT CREW, ‘CAUSE I QUIT,” he yelled angrily as he rushed out of the room, ramming Serena out of the way in doing so.

This outburst startled everyone.  This comment sent Serena into deep thought.  Although she was furious at AJ for taking a break in this dire time, she couldn’t help but feel as if she went too far.  “AJ, come on,” she quietly whispered.

“Now look what you’ve done,” complained Kaytlin, “you even managed to get your own teammate to hate you.”

“Quit being so stubborn for goodness sake,” said Cassidy.

Serena quickly put up her tough front again.  “No,” she said, “if he wants to do his thing his way, that’s fine by me, ‘cause I don’t need him if he’s gonna act like that.”

“We don’t have time for this,” said Hathi who took Serena’s hand and pulled her out of the room, “you have a road to fix anyway young lady.”

As for AJ, he watched Hathi escort Serena out of the ship.  Feelings hurt from her criticism, but angry at her mean comment, AJ growled before heading back to the garage to fix the Wubb Mobile.  In the garage, Widget and Wubbzy were looking at the Wubb Mobile’s condition.  When they saw AJ come in, their confidence of him fixing it up turned into concern upon seeing the tamarin’s frustrated expression.  “Was it something one of us said,” asked Wubbzy.

“No Wubbzy,” said AJ, “it’s not you.  Let’s just not talk about it, please?  I have a vehicle to fix.”

Wubbzy and Widget looked at each other with concern.  “No problamo then,” said Widget, “a little mechanic work oughta take your mind off your trouble.”

AJ sighed.  “I wouldn’t be so sure.”
This is part 4 of "The FT Squad's Adventures in Cars."

McQueen and Serena's attempt to fix the road quickly ends in disaster.  But in addition to this, tensions rise between Serena and AJ and this leads to disaster as well.  Will things calm down and will the road get fixed?

One part of the movie that I actually cringe at is the scene where Doc attempts giving McQueen racing advice when he's trying to make that turn he messed up on.  What McQueen says to Doc is very rude, but what happens to McQueen right after that I think was deserved.  He did come off as kind of unlikable in this part of the film after all.
