“‘Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land.  To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn.  The younger brought out the moon to begin the night.  Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies.  But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful.  The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.  One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn.  The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one’s heart and transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness; Nightmare Moon.  She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night.  Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic known to ponydom; the Elements of Harmony.  Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon.  The elder sister took on responsibility for both sun and moon and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since.’  Hmm…elements of harmony.  I know I’ve heard of those before…but where?”

A kingdom of enchantment; a world where freedom and peace is ever present; a land filled with wonder and discovery; for generations, this world has been the home of many sapient creatures; the most common and intelligent being earth ponies, pegasi, unicorns, ponies all.  They have coexisted in balance and equality with the environment for a long time, in the kingdom of beauty…the kingdom of mystery…the kingdom of adventure…the kingdom of grace…the kingdom…of Equestria.  For hundreds of years, this world has been under the watchful eye of its wise ruler, Princess Celestia.  A mentor, ruler and raiser of the sun and moon, day and night, she has maintained homeostasis in her kingdom ever since the beginning of her rule.  But now, Equestria is about to undergo a big conflict.  The tale begins in the capital town of Canterlot, where a young unicorn makes a startling discovery…the discovery of fate.

It was a beautiful day in Equestria’s capital, Canterlot.  A young mulberry coated unicorn with a moderate sapphire blue mane and tail, Twilight Sparkle, walked down the path.  She was carrying books and school materials in her bags.  A few unicorns appeared in front of her.   “There you are Twilight,” one of them said, “Moondancer is having a little get together in the West Castle Courtyard.  Wanna come?”

“Oh, sorry girls,” replied Twilight, who had another plan in mind, “I’ve got a lot of studying to catch up on.”

Twilight ran off, leaving the unicorns to themselves.  “Does that pony do anything except study,” one of them asked.

“I think she’s more interested in books then friends,” said another one as they walked off.

“I know I’ve heard of the Elements of Harmony,” Twilight said as she ran.

Twilight made it to the Canterlot castle and ran up the ivory stairs of a tower.  This tower housed her main room, where she usually studies.  Inside, Spike, a young mulberry colored dragon with green spines, was carrying a small gift and was about to leave the room when suddenly, Twilight burst through, accidentally knocking him over.  “Spike!  SPIKE,” called Twilight, “Spike?  Quick, find me that old copy of predictions and prophecies.”

Spike slowly followed her.  Twilight noticed the gift stuck on Spike’s tail.  “What’s that for?”

“Well, it was a gift for Moondancer but…” said Spike who noticed the beaten up teddy bear inside.

“Oh Spike, you know we don’t have time for that sort of thing,” said Twilight as she searched through her books.

“But we’re on a break,” said Spike.

Twilight didn’t pay attention to Spike’s words and, using her unicorn horn, levitated books from the high shelves above.  She looked at the titles of these, trying to find her one about predictions and prophecies, but she didn’t find anything.  “No, no, no, no, no, no,” she said in frustration, “SPIKE!”

“It’s over here,” replied Spike who had the correct book in his hands.

Twilight used her magic to bring the book closer, inadvertently sending Spike to the ground in the process.  Seeing that this was the one she was looking for, she started scrolling through it.  “Elements, elements, e, e, e,” she said as she looked at the turning pages, “Ah ha!  ‘Elements of Harmony.’  ‘See Mare in the Moon?’”

“Mare in the Moon?  But that’s just an old ponies’ tale,” said Spike as he cleaned up the books on a high shelf.

“Mare, Mare, ah ha,” Twilight said as she read through the book, “‘The Mare in the Moon; myth from old pony times.    A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon.  Legend has it that on the longest day of thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal.’”

Twilight gasped upon reading this prophecy.  “Spike, do you know what this means?”

“No,” replied Spike who lost his balance on the ladder and landed on Twilight’s back.

“Take a note please, to the Princess,” instructed Twilight.

“Okie dokie,” replied Spike who took out a feathered pen and a piece of paper.

With Spike ready, Twilight said, “My dearest teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster.”

Spike, who was writing everything Twilight said, got stuck on ‘precipice.’  “Hold on.  Preci…preci…”

“Threshold,” said Twilight, trying to make things easier.

“Thre…” Spike said, confused with that word too.

“Uh…brink,” said Twilight.

Seeing Spike confused again, Twilight got annoyed.  “Ugh, that something really bad is about to happen.”

Spike wrote this down, no longer confused.  “For you see,” continued Twilight, “the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact, Nightmare Moon, and she’s about to return to Equestria and bring with her eternal night.  Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true.  I await your quick response.  Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.”

“Twilight…Sparkle,” said Spike as he made the finishing touches on the letter, “got it.”

“Great,” replied Twilight, “send it.”

“Now?”

“Of course,” replied Twilight.

“I don’t know Twilight,” said Spike who was unsure, “Princess Celestia’s a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration.  And it’s like, the day after tomorrow.”

“That’s just it Spike,” said Twilight, “the day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration.  It’s imperative that the princess is told right away.”

“Imper…imper…” Spike said, trying to get that word written too.

“IMPORTANT,” replied Twilight loudly, who was now annoyed.

“Ok, ok,” said Spike who took a deep breath and blew a green flame into the paper.

But the flame turned into a small bit of twinkling smoke and flew into the air and out a window.  This was Spike’s way of delivering messages from Twilight to the princess.  “There, it’s on its way,” said Spike, “but I wouldn’t hold your breath.”

“Oh I’m not worried Spike,” said Twilight, “the princess trusts me completely.  In the all the years she’s been my mentor, she’s never once doubted me.”

Spike suddenly belched and out came a green flame.  But this turned into the same twinkling smoke from before.  A letter came out shortly after.  This was the princess’ way of delivering messages to Twilight, via Spike.  “See, I knew she’d want to take immediate action,” Twilight said.

Spike took the letter, cleared his throat and read, “‘my dearest, most faithful student Twilight.  You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely…’”

Twilight felt obliged by this.  “…‘but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books,’” Spike concluded, making Twilight gasp.

Meanwhile, in Lake Hoohaw, a lake far away from Equestria, one of the world’s best units of defense, the Future Time Travel Squadron, was cleaning the exterior their HQ house boat.  Suddenly, a siren went off and they quickly went to their ship, the Alpha Star.  “Incoming message from Commander Atom,” the computer said.

The message said, “Future Time Travel Squadron, this is Commander Atom.  We’ve waited a long time for this day to come, and now it’s getting close.  A special event is about to unfold and we need you to get the celebration ready.  Here are the directed coordinates.  You should be expected to meet someone you already know when the day
comes.  Until then, good luck.  We’re counting on you all.  Atom out.”

Seeing this as another mission, the leader said to his teammates, “power up the ship and prepare for takeoff.”

Everyone quickly got ready for action.  The fusion thrusters were activated, life support systems were online and the coordinates for intended location were installed into the computer system.  The ship’s engines were online and ready to help the ship lift.  The Alpha Star rose high into the sky.  The Alpha Star captain flew his smaller, one man fighter ship, the Blue Jay ahead, but kept in touch with his teammates via radio transmission. “Set course for…the Pony Realm,” the captain ordered.

A portal opened up and the Blue Jay sprinted ahead, with the Alpha Star slowly following behind.  The ship left Lake Hoohaw and headed out for its intended destination.

Meanwhile, back in Equestria, Twilight found herself on a chariot with Spike.  They were being escorted by two royal guard pegasi to a new town, away from Canterlot.  “‘My dear Twilight,’” Spike read the rest of the letter, “‘there is more to a young pony’s life than studying, so I’m sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, in this year’s location; Ponyville.”

Twilight was not pleased about this.  She wrote her letter about the possibility of an evil pony coming back to bring a never ending night, but rather than her expected response, she got a letter instructing her to prepare a celebration in Ponyville.  “‘And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete,’” Spike continued, “‘make some friends.’”

Twilight moaned with displeasure.  “Look on the bright side Twilight,” said Spike, trying to be optimistic, “the princess arranged for you to stay in a library.  Doesn’t that make you happy?”

Twilight realized that Spike had a point.  “Yes, yes it does,” she replied, “you know why?  Because I’m right.  I’ll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library and find some proof of Nightmare Moon’s return.”

“Then…when will you make friends,” asked Spike, “like the Princess said?”

“She said to check on preparations,” replied Twilight, “I am her student, and I’ll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends.”

The royal guards parked the chariot in a suburban town, miles away from Canterlot.  This town had ponies walking and doing their own business.  “Thank you sirs,” Twilight said to the guards.

“Maybe the ponies of Ponyville have interesting things to talk about,” said Spike.

One pony trotted by when she noticed Twilight and Spike.  This one had a pink coat and a raspberry colored, poofy mane.  She looked at the two new visitors as Spike
said, “Come on Twilight, just try.”

“Uh…hello,” said Twilight, trying to say hi to the local.

But this pony suddenly gasped loudly and zoomed off in a flash.  Twilight found this weird.  “Well that was interesting alright.”

Spike sighed as they began walking off.  But as they walked around town, they suddenly noticed a big portal appearing out of nowhere.  They both stared at this anomaly as something started coming out.  It was a giant, futuristic looking ship.  It was the Alpha Star and it slowly approached Ponyville.  “What is that,” asked Spike.

“I have absolutely no idea,” said Twilight.

“Rudy, what’s our status?”

This voice came a few feet away Twilight and Spike.  It was coming from the Alpha Star’s captain and Future Time Travel Squadron leader, Kyle the Otter.  “Everything’s fine Kyle,” replied Kyle’s teammate, “we’re about to land.”

“Excellent,” said Kyle, “start the landing cycle and prepare to come on out.”

The giant Alpha Star gently landed in a small, open area, a couple meters away from the edge of Ponyville.  The occupants came out of the ship and met up with Kyle.  “Great landing guys,” he said, “but before we proceed, FT Squad, report in.”

Kyle’s fellow teammates, and squad founders, Rudy the Alligator, Dennis the Frog, Cassidy the Pelican, Kimmy the Elephant and Kaytlin the Otter approached their leader and friend as Rudy said, “your fellow FT Squad founders are here, ready for action.”

Four giant dinosaurs appeared behind the founders and stood above them.  These were the FT Squad’s dinosaur friends from New York City, Rex the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Elsa the Pterodactyl, Dweeb the Parasaurolophus, and Woog the Triceratops.  “The New York dinosaurs are here,” said Rex, “we’re all set for stuff.”

The squad’s friends from Wuzzleburg, Wubbzy, Daizy, Widget and Walden, stood beneath the giant dinosaurs as Wubbzy said, “the Wubbzy Gang’s here.  We’re ok.”

Seeing his team all ready and intact, Kyle said, “ok guys, we’re going in.  We’ve got a town to explore and a celebration to make sure is being put together.”
The FT Squad headed towards Ponyville as Spike said, “wow, they…they…”

“I have no idea who they are,” said Twilight, who tried to avoid contact with them, “but its best we get started now, that way we can get to the library in a jiffy.”

“Um, excuse me miss,” said Kyle who noticed Twilight, “mind if I ask you something?”

“Um…who are you first of all,” said Twilight, “you’re obviously not from here, are you?”

“No we’re not,” said Kyle, “my name is Kyle, and I am the leader of the Future Time Travel Squadron.  We’re here to help supervise preparations for a big event that’s supposed to unfold here in Ponyville.”

“The Summer Sun Celebration,” asked Twilight.

“Affirmative.”

“Wait…that’s what I’m doing,” replied Twilight, “who said you were going to copy my motives to take my objective?

“Wait, what,” replied Kyle.

“You’re doing the same thing we’re about to do,” asked Wubbzy.

“That’s right,” said Twilight, “My mentor, Princess Celestia, sent me here to prepare for the Summer Sun Celebration.  She didn’t mention anything about a group of visitors like you coming here.”

“Well, our boss, Commander Atom sent us here too,” said Rudy.

“That’s right,” said Rex, “we’re just simply following his order.”

“But I guess you already did our job if you’re trying to supervise as well,” said Kaytlin.

“I didn’t even get started,” said Twilight, “I was only in town for a couple seconds and I’m already distracted by weird ponies and random beings like you.”

“I’m guessing you’ve never heard of Future Time Travel,” said Widget.

“It’s an organization where people learn about the different universes and realms and must conquer any skill they set their mind too.  We, of course, are one of the organizations best units for defense and exploration.  We’re not here to cause trouble ma’am,” said Kyle, “I even spoke with the Mayor of Ponyville and she allowed us to come into town and visit, but she also informed us that Future Time Travel citizens are welcome here.”

“Atom even said we were supposed to meet someone during the Celebration, someone we met before,” said Cassidy.

Twilight sighed and said, “well if you just got here, and if you’re supervising for this celebration as well, then I guess we can go together, but let’s not socialize please.  I’m on a tight schedule.”

“What’s your name first of all,” asked Walden.

“Twilight Sparkle,” replied Twilight.

“And I’m Spike,” said Spike, who extended his hand for a handshake.

“Pleasure to meet you both,” said Kyle who shook Spike’s hand, before turning to Twilight and extending his hand for a handshake from her.

“Like I said; a tight schedule,” she replied before walking off.

The squad stood slightly disappointed by this behavior.  “What’s with her,” asked Dennis.

“Probably just a stressed out pony,” said Kimmy.

“Well, we better get started anyway,” said Kyle, “perhaps we’ll get to talk more when this is over.”

The team followed Twilight as she proceeded through Ponyville, about to go through preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, one by one.
I'm finally finished with my semester in college. Now that it's done, I can calm down and relax. The work was pyschotic and hectic, but I bonded with some fellow classmates and professors. I'm going to miss them, but surely I'll be able to stay in touch, via Facebook.

But anyways, now that this semester is done, I can continue my adventure series. I took a pause on it just to finish off the last few weeks. I didn't want to but I had no choice, since these weeks were insane. But now that it's done, I can finally upload the adventure I've been dying to get started on; "The FT Squad's Adventures in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic." "MLP: FiM" is my favorite show in the world. It has memorable characters, amazing acting, great animation, great scripts & stories, and educational messages about friendship. I recommend this to anyone who's looking for the mentioned advantages.

Also, when writing the description of Equestria near the beginning, after the narration of the two regal sisters, I listened to this song. I thought it was fitting, but that's only me. Everyone has their opinions.
